Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a Cairde and welcome to news report 1011 from Millstreet. Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this rather dull but mild Tuesday morning.

I don’t have the full details of the lotto draw this morning ,but I can tell you that the Jackpot was not won, The Jackpot for next week in €4,400 and the draw will be at Tarrants Bar on Sunday night.

A very special greeting goes this week to the lovely Mrs. Cait O Shea, of Dirreen, Adrigole, who celebrated her 90th Birthday recently, Many Happy returns Cait.

The AGM of LTV2 will be held at the Wallis Arms to-night starting at 8.

Our local development Group was so well supported that it was decided to divide it up into various committees to deal with various needs of our society, such as Industry, Tourism, Tidy Towns , etc. A very successful meeting of the Tourist Group was held on Thursday night . Some exciting advances have been made in the Bearra /Brefney Way , and also on loop walks along our own beautiful scenic areas. More information will be accounced in the near future.

Cloghoula Annual Pattern Day was a great success on Bank Holiday Monday in brilliant sunshine. It’s always a fun day for all the family, which raises great money for the upkeep of the school.

Ballydaly Sports and Leisure Day is coming up on Sunday May 16th, another great family day.

The Super concert will go ahead at Sound Trax Studios in BallyDesmond as planned on Sunday May 16th in spite of the recent fire, and we wish them every success. This will be followed at a later date by a fundraising event.

Gala Garden Fete coming up at Drishane Castle on Sunday May 30th with attractions many and varied, Proceeds to the Baby Jacob Fund.

Kilcorney Centenery Feis May 29th and 30th.

Citizens Advice Office is opened at the Adult Learning Centre in our Main ,St, on this Friday May 7th from 10.30 to 12.30 . And please take note that it is open on the First Friday of every Month at the given times.

On Thursday next A monster fundraising Tea Day in Aid of Alzheimers will be held at the Farmers Market in Kanturk, (at the Back of Twohigs Super Store) starting at 10.30. please support it well.

The AGM of “Le Cheile” will be held at the Canon O Donovan Centre to-morrow Wednesday night starting at 7.30.

IRD Duhallow will host an information evening, on Pensions and Social Welfare Entitlements , for women, this evening at the James O Keeffe Institute in Newmarket starting at 8.

Golden Jubilee Celebrations in honour of our Mons. Manning will be held in Millstreet Church on Monday May 28th. A presentation will be made to him in appreciation of his many years of service to our Community. Anyone who would like to be associated with it can take one of the special envelopes at the back of the church and return it not later than May 17th.

We wish God’s Blessing on all the little children of Millstreet and Ballydaly who will receive their First Holy Communion this Saturday.

Mass in Millstreet Church every morning at ten, Exposition at the Blessed Sacrement Church every Wednesday from 10.30 am to 8.30 pm. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrement every Friday evening at 7 followed by Mass at 7.30.

SOCCER Well done to Millstreet Celtic on overcoming Glenvale to win the Saxone Cup in Turners Cross.

GAA This Tuesday evening In the Junior B Football League Millstreet play Boherbue in Millstreet 7.30pm Tomorrow Wednesday, Millstreet meet Dromtariffre in Millstreet in the Duhallow U14 Hurling League at 7pm. Also tomorrow, Millstreet are away to Clonakilty in the Co. Premier Minor Football League at 7pm On Friday in the Ducon Cup, Millstreet are home to Lyre v Millstreet at 8pm. Millstreet return to action on Sunday in the Junior A Hurling League, away to Freemount at 6.30pm.
