Millstreet puts its best foot forward in salute of the national feast day to acknowledge St Patrick on Tuesday. The town’s Community Council are planning a late afternoon celebration with a new emphasis placed on school participation, increased prizemoney and entertainment for young and old.
The official parade is up and away at 5pm from the Dairygold Co-Op store and continues with a formal review stand in the Town Square. A special prize will be presented for the best window display.
Millstreet Pipe Band again figure on leading the parade and it complete a hectic day after a St. Patrick’s Day recital in Ballydaly after 9.30am Mass and participating in the Killarney parade.
The above appears in the Millstreet Matters column on the Corkman. This week it also discusses the People of the Year awards, Millstreet Country Park, the Community School Lenten campaign, GAA and more
