Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde  welcome to news report 989 form Millstreet.

Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this wild ,wet, and windy, Tuesday morning.

The Big Concert this week will be in our parish Church on Sunday November 29th in aid of the Church restoration Fund.entitled “Sounds of Advent.” Our own Parish choir will open the two hour show, and they will be followed by the  Kerry Choral Society.

Tickets @ €20 each can be bought over a wide area or from the parish office ,or at the door on the night. Please support it well. Starts at 7.30 ,bring a cushion as the Church seats are hard.

The heavy rains over the weekend did little or no damage here in the Millstreet area, baoichas le Dia. But our hearts went out to all those in other places who have been subjected to such expense, hardship and worry as a result of having their homes and businesses flooded. Lots of them losing the basic needs , such as dry floors, clothing, bedding. footwear   and all that kind of thing. It would be nice if a collection point could be arranged where those on dry land could donate these items which are so necessary if you haven’t got them.

The goodness of people knows no bounds at times of crisis. This is borne out here now also where little baby Jacob is concerned,  Two concerts will be held in Drishane Castle for his benefit on December 4th & 6th. further to that many people and groups are coming forward to help. A note from Nora Shine ,from Meelin she informs me that the people up there have arranged Disco and a sponsored Walk for the cause. Private donations coming in and I have a note here from Baby Jacob’s Parents to say that they are overwhelmed by the amount of support and kindness that they are getting at this difficult time.

Here are the results of this weeks parish lotto draw which was held at Tarrants Bar on Sunday night.Numbers drawn were 9, 14, 18,28 and the Jackpot was not won. €100 went to the Galway Family, Killkenny, the sellers were Lehane and Robert and they got €50 sellers prize, €50 went to Dermy Moynihan, Rathmore,    €20  each to K.
