… Patrick hailed from Millstreet, Co Cork and was one of four children born to Patrick and Mary Buckley. His siblings were sister Kathleen and brothers Denis and Kevin ( deceased). Patrick joined the family business of Buckley’s Stores in the 1950s, starting out on the shop floor learning the basics. He progressed to become managing director of company until the business ceased to operate during the recessionary 1980s …

National Cross Country Championships

Best of luck to Desmond Casey who has been selected on the Cork senior team for the National Inter County Cross Country Championships in Kilbeggan Co. Westmeath on Sunday, 22 November 2009, after he finished in 6th position in the Cork County Senior Cross Country Championships hosted over testing terrain in Clonakilty.

update Nov 24th: Desmond finished in a creditable 39th position in what were very difficult conditions, and 3rd of the Cork contingent. (39th #719 Casey, Desmond Cork 32.45)
