Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very  best on this sunny Tuesday sunny morning following a wet night.

And we’re all  invited to a party on this Saturday night November 14th.Its on at our Nibbles Café at the west End. Elenor who won an all Ireland , gold medal for her outstanding cuisine recently ,wants us all to share in her joy, to have a piece of the cake as it were. It starts at 8.30 on Saturday night,  so do drop in , it’s for everybody.

Sean Radley is back from Dublin following his joyful experience at the Volunteering Awards Function which was held at the Royal Hospital, Kilmainham. The outright winner to represent Ireland in Europe was the well-know Christine Buckley, and each contestant was presented with a beautiful framed scroll in recognition of their great work . By President Mary MacAleese. Each was also given a list ,in book form of all the citations that people sent in, in support of them in the run-up to the final. A keepsake that Sean will treasure.

Here are the results of this weeks parish lotto draw which was held at the Clara Inn on Sunday night Numbers drawn were,9, 24, 27, 29. and the jackpot was not won. €100 went to Christy Murphy, Pound Hill. The seller was Mary Lane and she got E50 sellers prize. E50 went to Jerry O Sullivan, Keale, E20 each to Liz Collins Kilcorney, Ellen O Shea, c/o Tarrants Bar, Tenzin Gyasto, c/o The Mal Passo Bar, Mary Murphy Nadd, Len Leader, Kilcorney, Sheila Linehan, Dooneen, Teresa Kelleher, Liscahane, and Gemma Nagle, c/o Joan Casey, Jackpot for next week €15, 400. The draw at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Sunday night.

A record crowd  attended  the Self-Build Exhibition which was held at the Green Glens Arena on Friday Saturday and Sunday last. Be it the Recession or whatever was the reason for the upsurge in the attendance.

Next event at that venue will be the 45Drive in aid of our local hospital fund.   Tuesday December 8th. More details later.

And the BIG news is that Our Summer Show is back on track again at the Green Glens arena in 2010, and will run from August 9th to 15th.

Evening of Prayer for Healing at Banteer Church on Friday next November   13th at 7pm with  no less than five priests as well as Eddie Stones.

A note from the Secretary of our Development Group to say that they will host a talk on Entitlements at their weekly meeting to-morrow Wednesday night at the Wallis Arms Hotel, starting at 8. And all are welcome. The talk will be given by Helen O Sullivan of IRD DuhallowEntitlements is a very topical  subject  at the moment ,so don’t miss this  important talk.

Craft Fair coming up at the Glen Theatre on Sunday November 22 from 12-6 PM.

Many congratulations to the Murphy Triplets, Clara, who celebrated their 10th birthday at the weekend.

The AGM of the Millstreet and District Housing Association takes place at the Canon O Donovan Centre to-night starting at 7.30.All Welcome.

The monthly meeting of our Community Council will be held at the Youth Centre to-night starting at 8.30.all members please attend.

Parish Christmas cards are on sale in the shops, proceeds to the Church Restoration Fund.

Concert at our parish church on November  29th, Entitled “Sounds of Advent”.

Tickets at €20 each on sale at the parish office .Proceeds to the Church restoration fund.

Gala Concerts at Drishane Castle,in aid of Baby Jacob,on December 4th and 6th. All tickets for the 4th are sold out. Those for the Matinee on Sunday 6th can be obtained at the office in  the Green Glens.

Still with our Church, The synchronisation of our Masses has now been completed, and the last remaining change was that of the vigil Mass which went to the choice of the people ,will be said in future at 6.30. Sunday Mass times are Millstreet, 8.30 and 11.30. Ballydaly 9.30, Cullen 10.30.These changes will come into effect on the weekend of November 28/29th. and will remain so until Summer 2010, when further new changes must be implemented.

Back to Education , Millstreet Adult Learning Education Centre will host an Occupational First Aid coarse at their place  Main St. Millstreet on November 24 ,25,27th, from 9am to 5 each day, for details contact Elaine Hooper at 086 833 78 11.

Book Club at our Library ,for 10 to 12 year olds ,meetings once a month,led by Kathleen Moynihan ,to chat about books.

And a further  note from IRD Duhallow to say they will host a Heritage Seminar entitled “Worship in Duhallow from the Tuatha DE d’Annan to Christianity “, on Monday  November  30th at the James O Keeffe Institute.

Please support the fundraiser in Cullen this weekend .It’s a Bring and Buy Sale ,in aid of their “Heart Response Unit” and will be held after each of the weekend Masses.

Congratulations to Millstreet on capturing the Duhallow U12 Hurling Knockout Championship on overcoming Dromtariffe in the final played in Millstreet on Saturday.
Millstreet bettered Lismire in the Junior B Hurling Championshp hosted in Millstreet on Sunday.

And this week we mourn the passing of the lovely Mary O Sullivan (Buckley) of Glountane West Carriginma, in her 40th year following a long illness bourne with dignity and courage. Our deepest sympathy goes out to her grieving Husband Seannie, little children Ciaran and Kevin. Her dear mother Siobhan and family.May God console them in their grief and give Mary eternal rest.
