‘The Forgotten Maggies’ attracted full houses on Friday Saturday and Sunday at the Glen Theatre. Full marks to Stephen O’Reardon and his team for bringing the story of these deprived women , to the notice of the whole world, lest we forget. On Sunday the audience gave a standing ovation to all concerned. And now Steve’s phone doesn’t stop ringing. His story has captured the attention of many people, not just in Ireland, but also the mighty New York Film Academy. Following showings around this country,  he will be heading for that location, at the end of September and we wish him every success with this brilliant  documentary, which took him three years to complete, on a shoe string budget.

Roger is an inspiration to us all , He fought his way back from almost total blindness following an operation to remove a tumour in the brain in 1991 to  use his limited ability to live a full life in his community and among other things , to write a book of poems.
